Simple Woman's Daybook

FOR TODAY... November 23, 2009

Outside my window...the fog is really thick and I hope rain is coming.

I am thinking...about the next month, full of family and friend celebrations. Time sure moves quickly and I wish I had started making gifts three months ago.

I am thankful for...seasons.

I am wearing...capris with a hand-me-down t-shirt, and fit-flops.

I am remembering...Pilgrims that sacrificed much for the glory of God. And, how that sacrifice is being legislated away everyday. Remembering daily that we are living a spiritual battle.

I am going...to keep de-cluttering and organizing. The boys drawers and closets are done and I have no idea how we had that many clothes in there.

I am reading...my Bible and health books.

I am hoping...everyone is well for Thanksgiving. Colds are not good when there is fun all around.

On my mind...gratefulness.

From the learning rooms...a break. We have a couple of things to get done, and I can give fun things for them to do, if they need an activity.

Noticing that...when times get tough, we begin to see what and who people really believe in.

Pondering these words...Live as free men, but do not use your freedom as a cover-up for evil; live as servants of God. 1 Peter 2:16

From the kitchen...turkey tonight, family favorites to prepare for Thanksgiving, yummy leftovers and a pantry full without too much planning.

Around the house...purging and cleaning followed by Christmas decorating.

One of my favorite things~ the smells of Christmas.

From my picture journal...

We are studying Thanksgiving and as we have been reading, I am reminded again and again of the Pilgrims journey, but more so, "why!" I believe it was William Bradford who said it was for the advancement of the gospel. It was a journey to freedom that came with so much cost!

I am excited to pull out Christmas decorations later this week as well.

Have a blessed week friend, I think of you often and remember you in my prayers.

I love your picture - I think maybe I'll light some candles tonight and sit and crochet.

Best wishes,

You got an early start :-) First to post this morning on Peggy's.

Thankful that you are all healthy ~ seems like a long stretch of illness for a while there.

Loved that you posted a picture of your beautiful table runner ~ simple Thanksgiving beauty.

Blessings this week ~ Jarnette
