Simple Woman's Daybook

FOR TODAY... January 18th, 2010 Martin Luther King, Jr. Day

Outside my window... temperatures will be hovering around 70 degrees all week. A far cry from the couple of weeks of freezing temps. We are looking forward to some time outside.

I am thinking... about Haiti. We spent an hour last night listening to people who were there on a mission trip, we saw footage of a documentary they were taping when the earthquake actually happened and the testimony of how God delivered them all safely.

I am thankful for... the wonderful gift of laughter. Following the NewMissions presentation we laughed for over a solid hour, my sides are sore this morning.

I am wearing... jammies. Later, I'm planning to wear a skirt and top.

I am remembering... the stories my mother told me about black and white schools, water fountains, and restaurants and I am glad that my children will never know a time like that.

I am going... to a scrapbook co-op and tea party this afternoon.

I am currently reading... the same three books I've listed for the last 3 weeks. Not too much time for reading, but the turtle won the race.

I am hoping... to finish the bedrooms upstairs. We are still missing items from moving three rooms last week. We need more order and less frustration. I am also hoping that my older boys have chosen good classes and teachers for this semester; school starts tomorrow.

On my mind... the huge amount of ministry that is taking place in Haiti. Great things are happening there and to Him be all the glory.

Noticing that... I am not moving too quickly on my 100 photos project. I'm planning to change that this week.

Pondering these words... nothing happens without God knowing it. He is not surprised by anything, even when we are.

From the kitchen... more stir-fry. I think we eat this everyday, and I never tire of it.

Around the house... catching up, cleaning out, and making lists 1)a load of dirt delivered 2)septic tank pumped out 3)driveway scrubbed 4)windows done (this lists never ends)

One of my favorite things~ clouds flying across a full moon during a bitterly cold night

From my picture journal... stir-fry on any given night

Wow! 70 degrees! That would be heaven, I have just been reveling in our "balmy" low 50's, I'm such a wimp!

I need to start doing more stir fry. My kids like it and would actually eat veggies that way, hmmm, I'll have to add that to this week's menu.

Thanks for the inspiration!

Hi Lisa!

I've been using the Wii Fit Plus for 23 days now...I've missed about 4 days, between hockey games and the stomach flu. I'm down 5 lbs too. The good thing about the wii fit plus is that it tracks your bmi, weight, steps, and more. You can tailor to calories burned or what you want to achieve as well. I don't think dh thought I would use it when I asked for it, but I proved him wrong.

Thanks for stopping by today! Have a good one!
Blessings,
Lisa

I so enjoyed your daybook. I can't imagine 70 degrees. Perhaps I'll have an idea of it this time next year. Your stir fry looks delicious! I don't think that I'd get tired of that either. Thanks for the beautiful imagery of the clouds flying across the moon. Haiti is never far from my mind. Looking at your link next. Blessings to you and yours on this day!

I like the 100 photos idea and just might join you. It will certainly get me to think more creatively and take more pics.
I would love a 70 degree day right about now. Our high temp is to be in the 20's. Brr.
Enjoy your week and keep your camera with you!

WOW, I haven't actually seen any footage of when the Haiti earthquake actually happened. But then there is less of it on the news here anyway than i presume you are getting.

We are praying for Haiti too, especially after the 2nd earthquake that hit this morning. God is certainly in control; our faith must be in Him.

Have a blessed week.

I loved your comment: "Pondering these words... nothing happens without God knowing it. He is not surprised by anything, even when we are." Isn't that so comforting!
