with heavy hearts

It is with much sadness we will attend orchestra rehearsal today.
Our conductor, teacher, mentor and friend Jonathan May will not be there.
Mr. May suffered a massive stroke and passed away Saturday, at the age of 51. We have studied under Mr. May for five wonderful years and our hearts are filled with sadness and overwhelming gratitude. This man loved what he did and his love was contagious. He was the reason we went to NYC and Jacob performed at Carnegie Hall, he is the reason Jacob wants to major in Music Education because he made Jacob realize that music was what made him come alive. Seth, Caleb and Hannah study with Mr. May and Rebekah has known him since she was 3. The following link is of Mr. May playing cello and his brother Daniel conducting one of his (several) orchestras . According to Caleb, this was one of Mr. May's favorite pieces.

With fond remembrance we will carry on your gift
of music, but we will miss you friend.

He impacted our lives, too. So sorry for your family's unexpected loss.
