We have had a very full weekend here and the next month seems full of "livin" also.
A short amount of time tonight was spent at the beach with friends to see the shuttle off.
There were no scrubs and no dissapointment. I think this was one of the prettiest launches I can remember. So...3,2,1
Shuttle Discovery lifted off , right on time, at 7:43. We made it, with 2 minutes to spare.
The picture does not do it justice, but the sun was reflected in the cloud left behind by Discovery. I am sure this exhaust has some fancy name, but at the moment I have no idea what that is.
Now, what's a kid to do once the shuttle is safely in outer space?
Play of course WE'RE AT THE BEACH!
Over the dunes and behind the sea oats, the sun was setting too quickly Tomorrow awaits with new adventures all it's own, goodnight.

Wasn't that launch beautiful. I loved the way the sun reflected off the smoke trail. Plus it was so clear. We watched it from our front yard. Tons of people were walking over to the beach though. What beach did you watch it from? You were probably really close to us!
No matter how many launches I watch it never gets old!
Blessings,
Kim
How pretty!! My husband and I were just talking about how we'd love to see a shuttle launch one day. I truly hope we can do it!! You are so fortunate to see it.
Lovely photos!
Well, this post just answered my question of "Wonder what state she lives in?" :)
I've never seen the space shuttle launch...just landing...once in the California desert. Then piggie-back it's way back to Florida.
