FOR TODAY August 24, 2009...Outside my window...there is a lovely blue sky. It is hot and sticky, and the sun is shining brightly.

I am thinking...about an Aunt that was put in the hospital. Family is on the way and it is not looking good.

I am thankful for...one more week of summer. We have been squeezing all we can out of the last weeks.

From the learning rooms...we are still purging, cleaning and preparing for the coming year.

From the kitchen...fresh cinnamon rolls for breakfast, an abundance of fresh bread ( I made no bread last week )

I am wearing...yard work clothes. We are headed to do yard work for someone else.

I am creating...dish-rags and needing to sandwich Hannah's quilt.

I am going...to the first football game of the season at the end of the week. I hope a couple of more beach days are in store and maybe a trip to our favorite bookstore ever.

I am reading...the Yada Yada Prayer Group (STILL). As you can see by my reading and posting in this space, there is not much time for reading or writing.

I am hoping...we lose no more chickens. We lost one yesterday without any signs of why. I am still hoping my husband will no longer be sleep deprived. He is still adjusting to sleeping with a machine, but things are looking better.

I am hearing...children up and going early ~ practicing a string quartet and getting chores done. We are getting up early this week to prepare for the coming week.

Around the house...laundry is going, the ironing pile is shrinking, and we are chipping away at the master project list.

One of my favorite things...laughing around the family table. We have been quite busy so these times seem all the more precious and obvious when they happen.

A few plans for the rest of the week: Getting up early and adjusting to a school schedule and working on plans and projects.

Here is picture thought I am sharing...this mornings practice
.

Please join Peggy to read more Daybooks or create one of your very own. Have a great week.

The lovely sounds of strings playing in the midst of cinnamon roll aroma...a beautiful picture! The quilt, I am sure, will be lovely - as are all your handmade projects. :-)

Praying for your Aunt and that she will be surrounded by the power of prayer.

Blessings ~

Lisa-
We are praying for your family. I haven't made much bread lately because it has been so busy with starting back to school but it has also been good. The kids were just asking for some yesterday!
I would love to learn how to make dishrags! My sister knits them and every so often she shares one with me and I love them! They can't be that hard can they?
Blessings,
Gayly
